Stagecoach Drive Streambank Stabilization

Client: City of O’Fallon, MO
Owner: City of O’Fallon, MO
Year: 2016

M3 Engineering designed biostabilization streambank restoration for 1,100 feet of failing stream in O’Fallon, MO. Previous attempts to address the degradation have been unsuccessful and several properties are being threatened. M3 performed a geomorphic assessment to determine the cause of degradation and found that a steep stream profile was causing severe downcutting. M3 designed several techniques to address the root causes, including stacked stone, rock vanes, Newbury riffles and planted wrapped earth banks. The project included plan preparation, easement acquisition and 404 USACE permitting.
