M3 Engineer Recognized at WEFTEC

Jade Pereira, EIT from M3 Engineering Group in St. Louis was recognized at WEFTEC 2018 for winning first place at the EPA Campus Rainworks Challenge.  Jade participated in the challenge last year while studying at the University of Illinois, Urbana - Champaign.  The challenge is a design competition that engages with future environmental professionals to develop innovative stormwater management solutions. The competition encourages students to form inter-disciplinary teams to tackle a stormwater problem on their campus by using green infrastructure design principles.  The University of Illinois, Urbana – Champaign won first place at the 6th Annual Campus Rainworks challenge in the demonstration project category which focuses on how green infrastructure can address stormwater pollution at a specific site on campus. The team designed a ‘treatment train’ that integrates a series of green infrastructure practices including bioswales and permeable pavement to treat runoff from a parking lot on their campus.  Congratulations Jade!
