1,500 feet of existing sanitary sewer was being threatened by a meandering stream suffering from bank failure. The sewer is part of Illinois American Water’s system near a pump station located in LaVista Park in Godfrey IL. The bank failure had exposed the sewer in several locations, putting the system at risk for sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs). The project included large stones (rock toe walls and rock vanes) in strategic locations, sewer replacement, trail replacement and plantings. M3 acted as the owner’s representative in charge of inspection and contractor compliance, pay applications, shop drawing review, startup, and project closeout.
